couldnt find where to post this question about my tires

... so it ends up in here. Im sure it will be moved if there is a better place.

I bought ceramic pads last week and pussed out on doin it myself. I had the local hillbilly shop do it for me. The cool thing about that place is I sit out in their garage while they do it and watch everything they do. Gives me a chance to ask a bunch of questions and learn a bit along the way.

So they have the front tires off and Reggie says "hey, feel this bump on the front right tire". Sure enough, there is a little "swell" on the outside tread of the tire. The tires have maybe 8,000 miles on them. He said it was because I need an alignment (which these guys dont do).

So I go today and try to find a shop. They're all a bunch of lazy bitches closed on Saturday or booked up the rest of the day.

I have to wait till Tuesday because thats the next day I'll have a chance.

My question is this.... if I rotate the tires from back to front, will that help my situation before that "bump" becomes a hole or a blow out? Or is the tire just fucked now?

bumps usually mean you curbed it or hit it extremely hard, bad alignment can cause them too, but u need a new tire, whoever installed your tires should have alligned them when they did it

It would be pointless to take a pic because I can barely tell by looking. But when I felt it, I could feel a lump. It was just like a slightly raised section. Maybe coming off the the tire by 1/4 inch or so. It was about 2 inches long

It will be fine until you can get it fixed, dont worry about that. My mom had a bump on here tire that was about an inch off the normal tire and I drove it down the highway at 65 mph to discount tire.
