IMO that is a very reasonable price if it is an 03.

If that is the price you could get it for plus a shipping fee, it sounds like an excellent deal. I couldnt really see doing all the things you asked about for that kind of price.

Seems like the only things left would be headers (while the engine is out) I didnt read anything about motor mounts but I figure they would be included. Maybe a driveshaft ( not sure if the one from the 6er is interchangeable) Maybe upgrade the radiator. Clutch pedal and quadrant (if your car is an auto). From wat all I read is included, headers and driveshaft would be the most expensive thing I could think of but not necessary b/c manifolds are included in the sale. Im sure Im probably missing something but it couldnt be toooo terribly expensive.

the engine and trans have a set of stock short tube headers on it. so an 8.8" rear would be helpful or you would soon break the 7.5"

You can beef up the 7.5" rear end to be stronger than the 8.8" and the 7.5 will be lighter in the end. So you don't have to do the full rear end swap, just work on your current one.

The driveshaft won't bolt up so it will need to be swapped.

The article did say something about a dead (but not broken) cylinder. So it is a good price. But any used engine you must expect to do some work on. Whether or not the article says so.

Personally I had the oppourtunity to do a v8 swap, but I held off. I am saving my cash for a new six.

I love the look on v8 faces getting stomped.

the 8.8" is much stronger than the 7.5" and that is one of the reasons ford replaced the 7.5" with the 8.8" for the gt model in 1985. The 7.5" is prone to breaking and slipping with over 275-300 rwhp. I think a six that can beat an 8 is quite remarkable, especially if the 8 has work done to it. i honestly would rather build an 8 than a 6, but that is because after a while, you will always want more power, and the v6 can only give so much of what you will crave.

I dont think the engine listed has a dead cylinder. I believe they were just telling you what could hapen if it did have problems. As for sticking with the v6, mo powah too joo. Keep us posted on how it all turns out.

maybe, im wondering now if it would be a better bet to atcually seriously look into this - especially if hes providing a lot of the parts to faciliate the swap...for under 3k? i dunno. but then i just tell myself if i really want one, i should get a real gt or whatever and not worry about all the details. whatevre im just babbling and daydreaming now. im sure ill just stay with my 6 until money lets me get a new car and then id consider an 8 of some kind.

hey, while im checking out ebay, let me ask this - is it worth it to pick up a semi wrecked v6 (2000) just to have all the extra parts and what not? (or even just to play around with or learn with . this one runs , it just clearly has some body/frame damage (which i dont care about sinceit wouldnt be for driving anyway)

its only 750-1000 bucks

this one is just a littl emore but pretty close to where i live actuallty

That is very true for a stock rear end.

But as I said, a beefed up 7.5" rear end will outperform a stock 8.8. But yes, it will only hold so much, about 450-500 horse. But that is a beefed up 7.5".

True a stock tends to warp twist and even bread at the 300 mark.

But if he is willing to trust is skills as a mechanic (not sure if he is) a beefed up 7.5" rear end will be lighter and almost as strong as a stock 8.8".

As for the swap, yes it is easier to take a GT engine and swap then to mod a six to be as quick as one. I just like the satisfaction. All a matter of prefrence.

Everything depends on your money situation. If you have it to buy it then it is good to have; but if not then don't
