useful on the street is why im doing the m90 swap from a supercoupe. not too much power, but i have it on tap when needed for regular every day driving. im not tryin to build an extremely powerful stang, i just want something that has good get up and go when needed. buying a turbo or s/c thats actually made for my car wasnt cost efficient for me

This may be some useful info.
XCharger is a roots style that gives good down low performance. Install can be done by yourself and Doug from Bamachips usually provides the tune for them. The fit and finish is great while driveability seems like just a bigger motor in the car. I've driven Navbtcret's (MustangCollective) car down the track to a 13.01 recently. I like the system and hopefully this year there will be an intercooler out for it. Centri's such as Vortech, Paxton and Procharger won't have the low end grunt of the X, but they will continue to pull down the track. I would run 4.10's and a smaller tire like 26" to compensate on the low end. Out of all the centri's, I prefer the Procharger for scaleability and ET potential. PH turbo comes with a Precision 61mm turbo. If you are going to buy it, then make sure you get the intercooler. I would get the supporting mods for it to prepare yourself such as tlok/gears, aftermarket mufflers (stock 4.0 mufflers are restrictive), lower control arms to control wheel hop. To date I have never had an issue with heat, so coating/wrapping was never needed. The key to longevity is a proper tune. Before you even purchase a kit like this find a shop that is reputable to do the install and tuning. You can run high 11's all day on 13lbs of boost on stock block very reliably. Most important of all, do your own independent research on all these kits. Don't just listen to people on the internet. Call local shops. Call Explorer Express and talk to Dave, Call PowerHouse and talk to Mike. Do all the research you can and balance that out with your needs and goals for the car and decide from there. Hope that helps. |

Buckman is right. That blown V6 with 2 motors was another car, with the Twister kit. Also, its not the kit that blew the motors, but the decisions made with the kit installed.
BTW: I'm the only PH turbo in VA right now. Like Buckman, I know all the PH turbo V6 owners.

it depends on what you want. the turbo will yeild more power, but it will be in the latter rpm's. the x-charger will make less power but will be at max boost in the middle rpms and you have power on tap for daily driving. its your preferance
