I say x-charger, its just such a nice system and IMO a lot more streetable than a turbo. I love turbos but there is just such a strong urge to up the boost and go as fast as you can

ok say i come up to a guy in a gt at a stop light... do i want xcharger or turbo?

gf, i was really thinking about the x charger until i read that s/c's lower gas mileage, and that the turbo would get more power and a faster 1/4 time

well the turbo is going to lower your gas mileage just as much, at a light with a gt you'll take one with both systems , and a turbo will make more power, but there is a lot more money involved usually if you get the s/c would still be able to get your t-lok and gears since you could install it yourself so much easier and skip the nasty 1500 dollar install bill

o i thought turbos kept the same gas mileageas a stock engine. now correct me if im wrong, but it pretty much boils down to: a turbo will give high rpm power, and more of it, but because it is high rpm, i may not use it on everyday driving, and s/c will give power(but not as much) all the time?

well the turbo will if it isnt spooled and you have a real tame tune, but the turbo is usless IMO if it isnt spooled by 3000rpm and the s/c will hit full boost right under that, but you pretty much got it

well if i get the turbo, i dont want to hold back on it one last question:
if i took my v6 racing (1/4 mile, and actual race course with turns) would a s/c or turbo do better? (my guess is turbo)

well on the same motor, in the same car, with the same psi levels the turbo will because it will make more power.

1/4 mile turbo, twisties a small turbo or s/c but nitrous is my favorite for a autox course

this turbo says peak power is at 2900 rpm. will it give less power at higher rpm? PipeLine Intercooled Single Turbo System V6 [PHA-TS05V6] - $5,195.00 : Powerhouse411

no it holds the power it is just quick to spool up that would be a good choice over the s/c if you dont mind the extra cost you'll also need 600 bucks for rear end work, and if you cant install a 2000 install price

and its all good man Im here to help ya lol

thanks a lot for the help. about rear end work... i really dont like the loud sounds most aftermarket exhaust put out. my brother has dual flowmaster on his 2000 mustang v6, and i personally dont like it. is it possible to get mufflers that allow more flow without much increased sound?

when I say rear end I mean differential work, t-lok(posi trac) and gears. as for exhaust you can keep it stock and just do bigger piping im sure the exhaust shop has quiet OEM style mufflers

i believe you said before that the 3.73 or maybe the 3.31 would be what i want. would that lower gear sacrifice some top speed? (speedometer goes up to 120)

not enough that it will hinder you, you can go 115 stock with the governor, with that removed maybe 125 you wont see those speeds so it dont matter get 3.73s and t-lok youll be good
