Upgrading a V6(fyi..this is a daily driver) Which gears should I get.. the 3.73 or the 4s? Explain the difference. I wanted to add a new camshaft but if I do the mechanics said my car will over rev, so should I also get a higher stall torque conveter? |

no, the mechanic is stupid...if modding a v6 is a bad idea then modding a civic is for cavemen
a 300hp v6 will run 12s and be much faster then a Stock GT and slightly modded GT's what mechanics are you talking to that a camshaft will over rev? you just adjust the rev limiter and tune it... i would suggest getting a cam still youve finished your bolt ons

as for what you should get tell me how fast you want the car...300hp 250hp 400hp...or a 11 second car 12, 13...etc.. then i can list the gears you want and other mods to get you there...

400hp should be good. My current mods are.. true duals, and cold air intake.

then you'll need a 8.8 rear axle instead of the 7.5 you have
the 8.8 already has t-lok so you just need gears. most likely since you want 400hp you'll be needing a s/c or turbo so get the 3.73 gears then get long tubes better then the short tubes throttle body (optional) then a cam and ported and polished heads-that'll get you a lot of hp..close to 300 then throw on a prochargers and you'll have 400hp for sure...or you get nitrous i plan on getting most of that...but instead of a s/c im getting stage 3 kit most likely or just a cam and p/p heads then a 75 shot of nitrous

you can get 400rwhp n/a and run 11's. that is what ssms did with their notch v6 tuned for nitrous running mid 11s all motor.
if you want 400 streetable hp, you need a poweradder, upgraded rear end, then forge the motor before adding boost
