autometer oil pressure gauge

I just install the gauge in the a-pillar pod and ran the wires thru the fire wall.
My question is can you use the sending unit that came with the autometer
gauge and don't use the stock sending unit. Do i connect the two wires
from the oil pressure gauge to the autometer sending unit. I hope this makes any sense. Has anyone install a autometer oil pressure gauge.

first off, you should have gotten a mechanical oil pressure gauge because they are much more accurate than an electrical.
