just as an example ( to tired to find anymore) but possibly this
eBay Motors: COLD AIR INTAKE FORD MUSTANG 96-98 V6 (item 270221135488 end time Apr-18-08 00:59:10 PDT)
eBay Motors: K&N UNIVERSAL CONE AIR FILTER 3" INLET 6" DIA RU-3580 (item 150237733982 end time Apr-22-08 15:09:53 PDT)
and that
(not sure about the pipe size of the cai)
but the other ones are aluminum so they'll pretty much allow the same amount of heat

let the other people check it out, that intake was kinda fishy, it didn't say any piping size so i have no idea what size filter you would need

Yeah WLJ...unfortunately the e-bay deals seem to have dried up. That cheap one doesn't look good to me. I have a BOMZ Racing CAI on my sn95 (that is the kind that was such a great deal on e-bay) you can get those directly from bomz for $100. I would go ahead and get a bomz. Don't worry about the filter. The one that comes with the BOMZ is good. You can get the K&N filter to fit it, but it will only gain you maybe 1/8th of 1 HP(that is from the filter not the CAI).

true, didn't think about that.
and the only problem with most of the ebay filters is that thier that wire mesh stuff. and you can see right through them, would you really think that they protect your engine?
Spectre Performance - Official Site
claim to have the same or better performance of K&N and a lot cheaper

yea seems like the good ol days of cais being like 50 on there are gone...prolly too many people buying em so they upped the prices...

but yea a cai is a cai whether its 200 or 50 its both gonna give ya a few horses at the most and the filter that comes with the cheaper ones are just as good but as monty said above, the k&n will help a slight slight bit.

i think thats gonna end up being individual judgement, if u look at the filter and say to urself "wow this is a piece of shit" then ur gonna need a different one but i did have the bomz one myself for a while and it seemed fine to me
