Mods and rear

I know i posted this in the engine sections of the tech forum but i got no responses. I know the v6 section is active, full of inteligent v6's guys knowing their sh*t so i wanted to post it on here.

i have asked this before but everyone agrues what is best. So i will ask again. I have a 2004 v6 3.9L manual. It has like 33k miles. I want to keep it as a v6 because in the end will be cheaper than swap and all. As much as id love an N/a car, i dont think i can get the car at where i want it to be naturally aspirated.

I dont want the stroker 4.2 or the f150 swapped 4.2 because thats too much money that i dont have, as a college student. Forced induction is an option but i would prefer a Supercharger, please dont post telling what i could do with a bottle. I know what it can do but i dont want to go that route. I think thats so cheap of power. I want power all the time and shouldnt have to refill it.

I want to know the plus' and minus' of a supercharger vs turboes. I think i keep to my gut of the supercharger but you may persuade me to pick a turbo.

I'm not looking at serious race car, i want to keep it as daily driver, but running high 12's low 13;s. I think thats like 300-350 rwhp.

Also, my friend is selling me a 1999gt rear (8.8). For under $200. is that a good deal? Also do you know what gears are in them, ive heard 3.55, 3.53, and 3.08 whats the truth?

Thanks for the help

they have 3.27s
theres no way you'll get 300rwhp with out forced induction, or a 4.2,4.3L stroker
you can do:
bolt ons
ported heads
ported intakes and or windstar intake
new cam
rocker arms and other valve train parts
and with a tune see about 225rwhp or with a windstar and big valve heads possibly more. with suspension mods, aluminum drive shaft and flywheel you should be good for 13s for sure

it would be 13s though

and you could run a 75shot to get in the 12s

or

get a s/c or turbo kit. for a s/c you'll need about 11psi to run 300-320rwhp with a tune and exhaust

for a s/c you could see it with 7.2psi and a tune. i probably could have made that power with 5.8psi and a tune
for 350rwhp you can do 10-11.6psi for turbo
for a s/c you'll need ported intakes(upper and lower) at least and 11psi to reach 350

OK so the easier way is the turbo or S/c. And reading the other 7 pages about the turbo vs. supercharger, im now leaning more towards a turbo. Yes, it is a little more money, but it will create much more power with less strain on the engine. Am i correct Torres? for a 3.9 what intercooled turboes are good for my car? IS there really a difference b/w 3.8 and 3.9's because the engines look identical?

Also, my friend is selling me a 1999gt rear (8.8). For under $200. is that a good deal? Torres did say they have the 3.27's on stock gt;s so i got that part

so what would i need to get do first before a turbo or supercharger. Or can i just throw one on and be good running at likle 11psi for the s/c and 9psi for the turbo? What about when i want to up them?

Also, torres, Do v6 Mustang's run better as single turboes or twin?

Not that hard(as long as you're not putting in new gears) if you have the right equipment. It pretty much bolts right up. The problem is having the right equipment. Rear ends are f***ing heavy.

they're easy to install $200 is a STEAL
i wish i had that =/
3.8 and 3.9=same
me personally i prefer single turbo setup i plan on making 370rwhp at 11.6psi, tuned with ported upper and lower intake.
10psi is safe with a turbo
before f/i if you have a manual get at least a stage2 clutch, if you have the cash aluminum flywheel
and the 8.8 in there
you'll also need an xcal2 to have some kind of tuning device
42lb fuel injectors or 39lb
310lph fuel pump
and a better MAF
that should have you good for 10psi turbo tuned
or 11psi s/c tuned
