holy crap a question from me. lol

1991 3.8 cougar. same single port 3,8 as the mustang.. I figured you guys might know. I'm stumped as hell.

the cougar is having a starting issue that's pissing me off.. it cranks just fine.. so it's not the starter..
it feels like it's not getting enough fuel on start up ( this is bone stock btw)

I replaced :

plugs
wires
injectors
pump
filter (air and fuel)
cleaned maf/aic
replaced pcv..

still I have to give it a quick tap of gas at start up or it dies.. yes all my fittings are secure and no I don't have any vac leaks.. I checked about 12 times...

any ideas?

i didn't check the EGR but I don't see it causing a hard start issue unless clogged..

EGR wont cause a starting issue
the cougar has a coil?
it stays on when you start it and tap the gas? or no?
or is it just you need to tap the gas in order to keep it on.
whats your rpm's read at idle?

you've got me stumped a little or confused

lol.. i have to rev it like you would in a mustang to 1500 rpms.. just a quick tap and it starts fine.. if I don't it chuges between 300-500 rpms for a few sec's before it catches.. it doesn't die on me at all.. just pisses me off.
once it catches it's just fine.. idels good the whole nine yards

the motor is the exact same thing as a single port mustang

Thats just a guess, haha. I was having trouble with mine at start up, got it replaced, good to go.

Not entirely sure how they work and everything, just know it can cause that.
