what kinda cam
ok ive been all over this site reading about cams but im still confused as hell lol. So if i want to get a cam, do i need to get anything else with it? ive been seeing these powerpacks on supersixmotorsports that come with cams but i was wondering if i could just get that awesome sound with just a cam. Like what kind would it have to be and where could i get it? I have a 2004 V6 with a CAI and true dual exhaust but thats it and i dont really plan on doing anything else major to it maybe a shift kit and gears but thats it. thanks.

depending on what cam you will have to replace the springs, and possibly the lifters... but if you go really mild you might not have to have the heads reworked at all

then go with a low lift, medium separation and no power gain
maybe some one else will come in and voice a different opinion but if you want to play you gotta pay

ok this is just me but if ur goin through the trouble to get down to them u should just get ur heads re-done....with some new lifters and springs ..so then u get that mean sound ur lookin for

you dont need a power pak you need springs and retainers thay arent really that expensive and its a good upgrade. If you are going to get a cam for the sound you just need one with a long lop in the idle, talk to chris torres about a regrind

yea, if your going to do it, save up a couple paychecks or two and do it right. if your gonna go through with it, tear the engine down, might as well cover everything. just dont go too big because you wont get enough vacuum and your car will run like shit. what is chris torres pm name?

pick a cam from here COMP Cams: 3.8L & 4.2L V6
and i would recommend getting the heads ported and polished with stiffer springs hardened push rods new roller rockers and if you can find them for v6s get some hydrolic roller lifters if not just get hydrollic lifters and if you want get the valves grind out

where do you get lifters and push rods and roller rockers, will anyone work. dont take this as thread jacking, its adding to it haha

push rods i would get from chris the roller rockers from tom morana and the lifters you would have to shop around

chris might be able to get all the parts, he has them listed in his power combos...
click on the CRT performance link in my sig and tell him you are getting a mild cam and need springs retainers and possibly rockers then ask him for his opinion and where to get them
