06 mustang + spending cash

ok so i bought an 06 v6 mustang A/T and i have extra cash on hand (1500). see my friend bought an 06GT and i want to mod my car up and give him a run for his money but i dont know all that much about mustangs especially being A/T so thats where u guys come in to save the day!
i need your advice/knowledge on whats the best mods to add to it for my buck.
P.S. i already have a K&N intake. when im done with the mods ill post some vidz of the car against the GT.

it'll take a while before you can beat him...
but first if i were you i'd get a SCT X-CAL2 since every mod needs to be tuned on your car
then i'd get gears and T-lok
and UD pulleys with that money...
or when you can save, get the gears and t-lok (4.10gears) then get full exhaust and long tube headers

can you tune the fuel map with the xcal2 would i need a more expenssive alternative... my 97 is really sluggish up too 2k rmp

your car shouldnt be goin fast from 1k rpm to 2rpms, thats not even near powerband

i know that it isn't but it feels like its missing some power that should be their... idk ... i guess thats what you get with an old worn stock engine.

no, your car is fine as is. the only gear that should be going fast through those rpms is first...and thats even gunna slug a bit
