not as well as you think it would work, the air going in there i dont think would have enough speed or would be a large enough volume to really do anything to beneficial

plus by turning your AC on, you are using another accessory which makes you use more power. Notice how you dont have the same get up and go power when the AC is on?

i remember reading something about svt tried that on the lightning. they used the a/c to cool the incoming air and gained something like 54rwhp. not sure if this was true or not. probly not tho lol

from an engineering point of view u wouldnt see any gains from it, because since u have to put energy into the compressor to get it to cool the air, it takes more energy to cool the air then it would give u in the combustion...honestly it sounds like a good idea initially, but honestly i cant see it working

However, the A/C wasn't just routed into the intake. Like others have said, the flow rate would be much too small, and you'd be using more energy to cool the air than what you would gain by using it. The SVT system had a reserve tank that would be filled over the course of a few minutes (IIRC) with cooled air. THEN, once it is filled, that air would be automatically released into the intake when the car was WOT. The difference is, the SVT system saves up a significant amount of air because the standard airflow out of the A/C is insufficient... AND, the SVT system sacrifices non-WOT performance while filling the tank for increased WOT performance, rather than trying to do both at the same time.
