You won't have oil pressure, but it's probably OK just to check compression.
You only need a few compression strokes per cylinder.

Ok compression results are in... Using an Innova compression tester from fleet farm.
Cylinder 4 -- 135 Cylinder 1 -- 135
Cylinder 5 -- 165 Cylinder 2 -- 145
Cylinder 6 -- 160 Cylinder 3 -- 155

Obviously the compression is higher near the rear of the engine for some reason, is this common? So the lowest compression is over 75% of the highest compression so overall compression is good? If compression is fine, the tune is fine, and the timing is fine, THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MY CAR?????????????????????

" The most desirable situation is that all cylinders give the same or close to the same reading, and that reading is above 135 PSI. Uneven readings are not uncommon on worn engines, and as long as the difference between the highest and lowest readings are no more than 21 PSI and the lowest reading is 100 PSI or better, then the engine is acceptable. Greater differences between cylinders indicate worn or broken rings, leaky or sticky valves or a combination of all."

When cars sit a long time while having engine work done the gas deteriorates and may clog up the fuel pump. I would check fuel pressure and timing.

Did you confirm that the fuel pump provides ample supply pressure?

The compression readings are good enough that the car should run well. Also they may improve if the engine was warmed up.

I would suggest getting the tool to set the cam position sensor. It's best to install it with the front cover off so you can line up the timing marks. If that's done it isn't engine mechanical or timing.

Other things to try are replacing the fuel pump as you said you planned to do, and if there are still problems, replace the electrical part of the cam position sensor.

Not what I meant to say. I meant align the cam gears as you showed in one of your photos, then install the front cover and cam position sensor using the tool.

It's a good plan to do one thing at a time, so you know what fixed it.

This link shows how to go about removing and replacing the fuel tank.

http://www.moddedmustangs.com/2003-2...pump-swap.html

One tip is to replace the grommet on the fuel tank for the fill pipe. Ford recommends cutting it up with a utility knife to aid in removal. In installing it they said to use a little bit of "surfactant" to lubricate the bushing. I used dishwashing soap which worked fine.

Another possibility is the mass air flow sensor, but I think you will certainly have it running after replacing teh fuel pump.
