If it's a daily driver, I would go with the v6, if it's a weekend warrior I'd get a v8. The v6 can be modified to have 25-30mpg and keep up with a gt with 250-300RWHP if you know what your doing, however modifying a v8 is much easier and even a slightly modified v8 will spank an all out v6 all day long.

Personally I use my 97 v6 as a daily driver. I love Mustangs, and couldn't imagine driving anything else. I plan to twin turbo my daily driver and aim at 270-300 RWHP, and right now I'm getting 28MPG. As for my weekend warrior and total import desecrater, I'm working on my 65 original 289 Mustang Coupe. When it comes to a weekend warrior MPG doesn't really matter.

All in all, depending on what you want to use the car for should dictate what car you buy. V6s are overall cheaper to buy, maintain, etc... Great option if you want to get to work in style

yea, the only bad thing is the closet track to me is over an 1.5 hours away. So, in my dads roadrunner, we leave with a full tank, get there with little over 1/4. Its a 7.4 litre 440 c.i. w/ 4:10s. It hates highways.

Well let me in on some of those secrets. I could use some better gas mileage driven back and forth to college an hour away

then something is not right with your motor...

i dont care what people say if you a stock for v6 mustang and theres a stock form V8 mustang the v8 is going to get worse gas
it doesnt take science to figure it you
you've got a motor using 2 more fuel injectors and spraying the same amount as the others where a v6 has 6...
if you 6 waste the same or more gas then thats in no way saying oh my v8 makes the same MPG
well ya because your 6cylinder is running rich, pretty damm rich too.

ive talked with an 08 GT owner says he gets 12-15mpg
15 being semi nice in the city
06 v6 owner gets 22mpg with a foot as heavy as the GT owner

both bone stock
