my brother's '00 is slower on the low end now
after he got dual flowmasters and an airfilter, his acceleration is less than it was stock. Any one know what he should do?

I'm really surprised that he was able to notice the difference. His car actually gained power. However, with his setup he did lose some back pressure. Basically he lost power in the low end...but it has moved higher up in his power band. Did he keep his cats? What size pipes did he go with? Both of these can affect the back pressure. The lower the back pressure the more he's gonna lose in the low end. But again remember that power isn't gone, it has just moved.

BTW I bet his MPG is better. And with more power in the upper band he should be able to pass people more easily. As far as what he should do...well I would suggest getting gears and a t-lok.

yea and if you do other small things, get a stronger coil and gap the plugs a little more you can gain a little bottom end, If you gear the car you will notice an increase as well

he probably got 2.5inch piping which is to big so yeah he'll lose back pressure inturn losing low end power
only way to gain it back is to get more air-more air=more power

to fix the low end loss, gears would help. but to really gain it back youll need more air flowing thru the engine such as cai, ported and polished intakes and heads, something along those lines
