that is probably the best bet for the 3g's because with only that you will only be able to get a turbo if that, and not the needed supporting mods to handle the power
I just said that.

i would save for a 4.3l or just get what mmwarlord said but also with the splitport get the windstar intake
+1 Windstar upper and P&P on the lower.

Sure you could run at 6-8 psi and your engine will be fine, but your transmission and your rear end won't be. The turbo kit alone will cost you all 3k and maybe more. You wouldn't have any money left over for the necessary supporting mods that you would need to do. Here is what I would suggest with that kind of budget.
he wont have trouble at all doin it. used turbo kits can be had for ~2k. his transmission and rear will be fine at 6-8 psi. thats only about 250rwhp which the 7.5" can handle easy. his trans is good til about 350rwhp and 350rwtq, so i dont see a problem

i was also thinking about a m112 or a vortech if the turbo was gonna cost more then i could afford, but if i was gonna do bolt ons instead of a power adder it was gonna be a new hood, windstar with a split port swap, buy a tuner and get 4.10 gears maybe eibach springs or gt take offs maybe both if i can afford both, and im not mechanically clined and i dont have any of the proper tools. any work my schools shop cant do will most likely be done at a shop
