You can do it RELATIVELY easy. Lots of folks are putting 5.4s into their cars. I think for your 6er you will need a new K member which even if ya had a GT you would need that too for steering shaft and header clearance. After that you would need a new intake and front cap for accesories and what not.
There is a HUGE thread on this over on another forum.. heres the link Anyone intrested in 5.4L swaps, in here. Need you to opine. - Mustang Forums If these guys cant answer your questions... your in trouble LOL But I think its very doable.

lot of information over on that other forum that u sent me... that is a lot of help. they are beginning to make adapter plates to put a 4.6 liter intake on the 5.4 to solve the hood clearance issue. it is advised that u switch the k-member to a tubular type which is no biggy... im just worried about making that transmission and ecu work with the 95.. the engine and tranny is from a 92 i believe so i think it should be gravy train. all old school diagnostics - OBD I - so i think i should be in good shape.. we'll see i guess

im pretty sure the 5.4 is also too wide to fit without modding the the engine bay...but yeah, the 5.4 is very tall.
the lightning engine is an actually a 5.4L block....where the 5.4L in the cobra R was a stroked 4.6 |

^that motor is tall as fuck. does not look good at all. Hopefully he at least puts a hood on it with it cut out for the engine, of course.

If he got that new intake that they just made to fit for a 5.4 mustang then he could get a hood over that engine..... WITHOUT the eaton on it though. But thats not really a prob with the super charger cuz you can ditch it and go with a procharger where ya got a lot more room to work with.
A 5.4 in a stang is a very doable project if ya got time and patience. It dont even take alot of cash either, I have read where guys are getting the swap done for under a grand. Which when ya count HP/TQ per dollar.... we ALL spend a hell-of-a lot more for less gains. Like long tubes with mid pipe and cat back. The main guy I have been reading about got 350 some odd N/A horses from a 5.4 with just a mild build on it. Thats a pretty damn good jump in power if ya ask me.

it sounds amazing, probly runs amazing, but looking at the side view, i dont think it would fit under ANY aftermarket hood, even a 5 inch cowl. I dont think that any hood that you could custom make for this bastard would even flow with the car or look good at all. but fuck, i wouldnt let the hood stop me from doing this.
