whats the difference between the 3.9 and the 3.8?


okay so whats the difference between the 3.9 and the 3.8 engine in the mustang? i thought that the 3.9 was just people making typos or whatever but i keep seeing it everywhere. i always thought they only made the 3.8 whats the 3.9 have that the 3.8 doesnt? besides .1 liters lol

ford decided to put the 3.9 in midway through the year so thas why there is both the 04 3.8 and 04 3.9.....but no difference really at all

i think this sums it up perfectly
The 04 3.9 is a stroker beast. Don't let that ~.06 liter (Ford rounds up) increase fool you. It will eat you alive. Bad puppy.

your absolutely right. my 2004 3.9l ran a 12.2 stock

and if theres really no power difference then wouldnt the 3.8 run 12s also or no?

04's have a 3.9 no way around it...
i like your new car...

and all ford did was use a different rod, or something or other... not like i care... off of a different essex block that was in production to free up room for there new engines being produced

i got a v6 2000 stang and my buddy got a 2004 v6 3.9. ya its a close race but since mine a manual, cold air intake and some what of a dual exhuast, i get him, barley.

ummm....theres no power difference between the 3.8 and 3.9. If you have a manual and a few mods.....and barely beat him.....you fail at driving.
