Everything from ebay, 90% of it from the same seller too

Transmission was $500 I got lucky! usually like $800-$900
Axle with manual trans yoke $50
Clutch $150
Clutch Cable $43
Clutch pedal assembly $80
Manual ECM $50
Flywheel $50
Flywheel Bolts $26

So for me anyway total cost was approximately almost $1000.

Toughest part since i have a v6 was finding one with a v6 bellhousing and v6 inputshaft. if i had to buy the tranny , bellhousing and v6 input shaft seperately it woulda cost me almost $900 alone.

I spent about $3000 on my swap.

Tremec T-56 6-speed tranny $2200 new from ford racing

Clutch kit, aluminum flywheel, clutch fork, clutch cable, pedal assembly, shifter boot and knob $600

Shortening and balancing the driveshaft w/new spicer u-joints $200
(This is only needed for the 6-speed swap)

You have to have a custom tune for your computer. Fords retard the spark timing just before a shift to make it smoother. If you don't reprogram your computer, your engine will run like crap. I programed mine with the SCT X-calibrator and Pro Racer Package.

^ what the hell are you driving and how much hp do you have that you need a f***in 6 speed..? are you running 10s? i doubt it...$3k for a swap...thats alot of money

keep your auto...its not worth it...best choice...sell your car for a manual...it'll be the cheapest thing to do

Well, I guess I'm driving the GT's worst nightmare. Right now I'm pushing at least 300 at the wheels. Check out my mods in my garage.

My automatic only lasted 7000 miles before it blew. After a bunch of research, I couldn't find any automatics that are rated for that much power for a reasonable price. I could have swapped in a built T-5, but that would cost just under $2000 just for the tranny. I'm glad I spent the extra $300 for the 6th gear. It's the 2nd best mod I've done (supercharger is 1st) to my car. Besides, I'm tired of running at 3000rpm down the freeway. Now I run 2200 rpm.

In all actuality, the 6-speed was my 2nd cheapest option with a very long life.

It sounds to me like someone's jealous.

you guys are so silly... why go through the trouble of swapping when you can just buy your car manual in the first place??

I originally wanted a quick shifting auto. So I put a 3000 rpm stall converter in. That didn't hold up long.

My car has been supercharged and built for almost 2 years. The tranny swap happened 3 months ago. I had way too much money in my car by that time.

you should quote the torque with that, it would be a 'bit' more impressive and would explain your blow trannies, lol

but, yeah, you car is how a modded v6 should be

6spd, the way to go! (apparently) 2200 at freeway speed without having to worry about racing in too steep of gears, awesome!

I'll get some dyno numbers some day. I want to wait until I put the .570 lift cam in and 15% overdrive blower pullies first. And, I should get rid of those cats.

If anybody knows where I can get a good deal on a set of adjustable roller rockers, I'm looking.
