Wow. Thanks for the responses. I'll definitely make an effort to be active on these forums...
As far as my pony goes, I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it for the foreseeable future until I happen upon a Terminator under 25k. I reviewed my loan info and it'll be paid off in only 6 months, at which point I'll be left with nearly $1000 in discretionary income every month... which gives me tons of opportunity to make sure I'm happy with my sixer until I find that special Cobra. Only thing I probably won't be able to ever be happy with is the color... I have the bland green exterior/khaki interior set up that keeps everyone yawning. I've had some luck stretching it as "Bullitt green," but it's definitely not. If it looks like my tenure with this car is going to extend past 1 year, I may be seriously considering repainting the whole thing and using a body kit as an excuse to do so. And for the person that suggested it, I am still seriously considering getting a bike for the gas mileage, especially seeing as how people are predicting gas to hit $5/gal by the end of the summer and I have a 60 minute round-trip commute every day. And that would be okay year-round seeing as how it doesn't get too cold in Jacksonville, FL. =P And as far as my first car getting repo'd goes, my mom bought me the car when I was 16 while I was unable to work because of high school football. 6 months later, she's gone and the house gets foreclosed on and my car repo'd. Long, sad story, but my mind is focused primarily on my career and my car (not necessarily in that order). The audio in my car was a product of working at Circuit City... 75% off on all MTX, Kicker, and Dynamat got the better of me. It may be $4000 retail, but I only paid about $1200 for all of it. The set up is as follows: MTX 9500 series 10" sub MTX Thunder Elite 1501 amp (gotta love that piano black finish) Kicker RS 56.2 in the front, KS 68 in the back MTX Thunder Elite 604 amp (piano black x2... yummy) Alpine 9883 head unit Kicker PKD1 0 gauge holding it together Dynamat over the entire trunk and both doors I went with a single 10" versus 2 10s or a single 12" because neither me nor my installer at CC were 100% sure either of those set ups would fit in my tiny trunk without a totally custom box, for which I didn't have either the patience or money. That, and I needed just enough to make a decent improvement over the Mach system... I'm not interested in building a show car. Again, thanks to everyone for the input. |

200+mph bike will cost more then his sixer...which is hell to drive in rain tickets and cops are you new friend a crash is about a 50/50 chance at death you have to really baby a bike to get 50+mpg that also runs 200mph ![]() there is a cheaper way to do all this get a honda for gas $2k get a fox for racing after $10 in that it'll be MUCH faster then a termi with half the cost.

Only problem with a two-car set up is I would get killed on insurance... at least for the next year or so. Florida isn't cheap on insurance to begin with, though.
That, and I don't drive anything that doesn't have "Ford" and a pony somewhere on the exterior. =P Besides, I'm not looking to dominate people in Gainesville or set dyno records. I want a performance-minded, custom-looking pony that also offers good drive-ability and decent gas mileage. In my mind, that car is a late model V6 Mustang with a healthy amount of performance and aesthetic modifications. Seeing as how I already have a car that at least meets the base requirements, I'm going to see what I can get out of the pony I got. That being said, I am somewhat concerned about proceeding from here. My car just hit 100k miles and I don't know what precautionary steps I should take before I undergo any serious performance mods. Wheels, suspension, rear end, and new exhaust are my most immediate priorities, but I ultimately would like to get it off of natural aspiration in some form. I've always been really good about oil changes and have been using synth blend since I got it. I've had no mechanical issues outside of running out of gas once and it tends to idle a little high whenever I first start it. What should I do, if anything, to make sure my motor can handle mods that may push it over the 300hp mark? Also, I sent you an e-mail, Chris. You haven't gotten back to me yet. If you read it, obviously my goals have changed a bit (i.e. keeping my current car) but I'm still interested in what you're selling. I've been looking for an excuse to go visit my family in Miami, so get back to me soon. Last edited by JSummersPHD; May 22nd, 2008 at 11:35 PM. |
