Data log for Xcal 3


I just got my first tune from joe and i put it in my car and wow is my car faster then ever my tires chirp from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. It was deff. worth the price i paid. Any way i need help with the data log.... i just dont know where to get the program from and how to install it on my computer. any help would be great thanks.

your xcal should have come with a disc with all the programs on it

for the xcal2 it lets you use live link for data logging what do i use for my xcal3 is what i should be asking

yeah us livelink, it will take a little look over to find the things he wants you datalog. Remeber if the thing you want to datalog has a capital one and a lower case one, to always pick the caps one.

so i got live link but when i go to use it after i downloaded it the program wont start it just keep asking me do i want to remove it or repair it. My question is after i download livelink when i click on it what is supposed to happen? shouldn't there be a graph or something?

if i remember it will open up to a blank background in the window. Then click file and something like start new or something along those lines, then it is self explanitory from there.

if it still continues to not work remove it and reinstall it

I was going to get a Xcal 3 also from trick tuners. I have one question when u data log do you have to have a computer right there or does it save the log on the device and when you plug it in your computer it will be be there.

they all can data log but unless you have the live wire it's best to use a laptop
because the other models can't do it for long.

you can only data log short clips .. I wouldn't trust the data honestly.. either get the live wire or a lap top.

for a custom tune yes.. but if you mod in the future you may want to borrow his computer again.. lol.

you don't need to data log for a canned tune

Ok thanks for the help. One last question that is a bit off topic. When you get 4.10's and a tlock can the Xcal fix the speedo or do you have to get a speed calibrator or is there another way to fix it?

i would highly suggest using a computer. Because that way it is easier to record just what Joe needs from you. Also you will be recording for....approximately 4 and a half minutes because he wants you to do it twice in one datalog.
