Do you have ALOT of fabbing skillz or alot of money to pay someone to fab?

Hopefully you have a garage becuase I would not think this would be an over night swap...

I dont really even know how to start on this one...

If you're good at tuning and understand how all the sensors affect the engine, then you could run a MegaSquirt EFI system. It's around $300 I think.

A guy at work converted his 197? Mustang Mach I to EFI using a Mercury Marine ECU. He's also running a vortech supercharger. And, he uses Mercury SmartCraft digital gauges embedded into his original dash. He's an Electrical Engineer.

Another guy converted his VW fox to a Megasquirt.

Chevy motor in a Ford chassis... isn't that like considered High Treason?

Anyway, the above posters are correct.. you would have to change out A LOT of wiring in order to use anythign close to the factory induction on it, not to mention you would probably have to have custom made motor mounts, trans cross member, and drive shaft....

There's a couple of guys with fox bodied LS1s in our local club. I don't know them all that well but from what they said it is no small undertaking. Unless you have alot of good fabbing skills and access the right tools or buddies who can do it for you, it would be an expensive undertaking. Whatever you saved on the powerplant would be offset by the high cost of installation/tuning.

something tells me that the tranny wont mount up to the engine... IMO you should fine a good 6 speed to throw behind a beastly engine like that

... it can't be to hard... i watched an ls2 swap in a 70's nova this weekend on powerblock

the engine managment unit is going to be the bitch of the swap

ok the people on powerblock know what they are doing, and know how to do most things themselves... i was just seeing if it was even worth it, i am guessing it wouldn't be the best to buy it do to my skill level

thanks for the input

all i can say is that you can put the new ls7 in your car with the complete corvette suspension , brakes, tranny, rearend , and all the wiring for 18000 installed. so it would cost you about 12000 to do this swap
