Gear Ratio
ok.... i have a couple of questions.
1- i know 3.73s are recommended for a manual set up for drag. but what about on the street? should u go for something higher like 3.55s or stick with the 3.73s? 2- how much top speed do u lose going from 2.73s to 3.73's or 3.55s?

wont loose too much topspeed, especially if just used for daily driving. 3.73 is the ideal ratios for n/a manuals for street/strip

unless its FI, then u might think of the 3.55 ratio, but if u arent getting anything like that then coastie is right

yea if ur manual go with 3.73s. i went with 4.10s cuz i was auto and i was worried that they were too much for street use but they are fine. the only time u should prob not go with 3.73s for a manual is if u plan on turbo/supercharge/spray.

go with the 4:10's if your NA.. end of story.
you will lose 1-2 mpg on the freeway but you will gain it back with intown driving. you won't effect your top end speed because your car doesn't have the power to max out your gears in the first place. same goes for GT's.

if your running juice or a s/c 3.73s on a manual are just fine
only time you shouldnt really run 3.73s is with a turbo
