Hydraulic Lifters
I have a .570 lift cam that is waiting for me to intall it. It has a very aggressvie ramp rate too. That's what concerns me. Durnig lift, bleed-by occurs on the hydraulic lifters. Bleed-by should get worse with an aggressive ramp cam. Wouldn't that decrease my effective lift?
Has anybody ever tried switching to solid lifters and adjusting the valve clearance like the good ole days? If so, wouldn't the valve clearance cause loss of lift too? I'm just not sure if my hydraulic lifters are going to work well with the cam. Thanks, |

Well, they don't offer solid lifters, so the hydraulic lifters might still work.
Thanks for the link. I've never been there before, definately a bookmark. I've also been eyeing up that 1/2" thick main girdle. The 2-bolt mains are the weakest part of my base engine. |
