Might Sound Stupid But Need Help


so shortly after my turbo is installed i wanted to change my oil and start using royal purple as ive heard it is the best, i presently have mobile 1 full synthetic, i have never changed the oil myself and am a little nervous i might screw something up, i have seen pros do it so i know what to do its just that i never actually did it. any suggestions for the 05 v6 stang?

remove drain plug and drain oil

remove old filter

replace drain plug

get new filter and use your finger to apply a bit of oil to the seal on the filter

screw on new filter

add 5 quarts of new oil

start car

If you filled your oil filter you couldn't just pour the literature value for the amount oil in to your engine, you would need to try and figure out how much you put in the filter and then deduct that or you will over fill with oil. No need to fill your oil filter first.

u can get a jack at walmart or u can just buy ramps from walmart...i imagine the ramps cant be that much. they would give u enough room to get in and what ya need to do

take the oil to ur local autoparts store and most of them recycle it. i usually take mine to i think its autozone or kragen i cant remember but yea just call the place before u go and see if they recycle oil.
