NewBie... Few Questions

Hi, im new to this site. im from rochester NY My names kyle and i just got a 2000 mustang ,black, with 36,000 miles. v6 5 speed. I have always been a foreign import guy. i just sold my 2004 hyundai tiburon GT 5 speed. i did it to save some money. i pay 177 a month for the mustang instead of 280 a month for my tibby. Basically i have to clue about mustangs. well i have some clue. im in my last year of college for automotive technolgy. GM program.

Any way, my tibby was faster then this mustang. and ive had it for about 4 days now and would like to make it faster, better, all the good stuff. just thought i would get some ideas from you guys?

what are some basic things you can tell me? its 0-60mph? quarter mile? what are some basic things i can do to make it sound better and preform better? intakes( which kind are best) exhuast? ( which ? sound clips?)

Basically try to make me like this car more! thanks.,.. KYLE

I have that same CAI that you posted...and I got it for $70. Also you don't have to get a name brand cai. All it is, is a tube with a filter and your MAF running up to your upper intake manifold. Just a big tube. They all do the same thing.

not really, the metal ones will actually get hot and defeat the purpose

where if you get something like the tube K&N uses it wont get hot

yes the metal gets hot, but so does the intake manifold- which is metal... the nonrestrictive pipes are beneficial, but the conical filter is where it is at- not paper...

many stock ones do. Thats why a CAI helps out because of that filter. No matter what your goin to get heat restrictions in your engine, and also the temp isn't so drastic that a composite tube will make noticible hp gains over a metal tube.

no way? ive eating soo many of what you call "tibbys" in my day. they are not that fast at all anyway. if you wana run mid 15s long tubes and full exhaust will get you there...throw in the CAI for fun anyway.

honestly..tibby has to be the lamest name ive ever heard....srry but IMO it is

My tiburon Gt was faster. i know this cause i raced my 2 friends who had stock mustangs like the one i just bought. and they have stick just like i do. and i always beat them. you must of been racing the 4 clyinder tiburons....... im not tryint to put the mustang down at all... im just saying.

my tiburon was 0-60 in 7.2 sec and 1/4 mile at 15.6 and thats stock.

if the mustangs numbers are better then that then i must be wrong. i still dont even know stock v6 mustang 0-60 and 1/4. anyway from my experience my tiburon was faster.

my tiburon was alittle faster then the RSX ....

heres the links to show you the specs......

ive raced a v6 tiburon....i'd say its a drivers race

about rgiht, but 0-60 doesnt give a good estimate of performance at all.

what races ever are from 0-60? none!

stock 1/4 should be in the high 15's. But, with full bolt ons you can be in the mid-high 14's, faster than the "tibby" with bolt ons alone and a driver's race against many stock pre '05 mustang GT's
