I Need Help Asap

I just got off the phone with some guy who was supposed to put my gears in. He said that "You need to buy this other part for your car and you cant just change the gears. If you dont get this part your car will be really jerky and wont drive right. I dont know what this part is called but ill find out".

um...ok? first, is this true? Do i need this mysterious part or else my car wont drive right. I am sure one of you guys have done a gear swap and know the answer.

Can you just put gears in, or do you need somthing else? I kno my speedo will be messed up till i plug my programmer in.

thanks guys

master bearing install kit.
it's a good idea to throw a T lock in there while you have the rear end opened up.

As long as you have the t-lok and install kit you should have everything that you need. I'm gonna call bullshit on this one. Find out what this part is. I think he's trying to rip you off. It doesn't matter if it is auto or manual that should be all you need. Except of course for new gear oil...but that is a given.

and a tuner to fix your speedo, isnt a necessity, if ur going cheap. gps fixes it, or guess/find one of those cop speedo shits

ford dealership assembled my entire rear end and installed it for like 650. ive had no problems and it makes no noise.

Very Good Call!!!! This guy really sounds crappy. I can't believe he actually refused to install your bearing kit! It is a very good thing you're going to someone else. I'm pretty sure this guy would have fucked yo shit up. Also, I could be wrong but I've heard that when you first get gears put in, you should use regular gear oil and change to synthetic later if you want. Some people also say you should break the new gears in over about 500 miles and then get the gear oil changed(but this has been hotly contested).
