Natural Gas Kit

So with Gas prices getting the way they are, I am thinking of buying a conversion kit that will convert my 4.0L mustang to a CNG vehicle.

my questions are,

#1-I have added dual exhaust and really like the sound it gives me. On Natural Gas will the vehicle not sound as loud?

#2- Will I loose power in the engine going with Natural gas?

#3- with natural gas, does that make it so that I can not use a tuner or anything?

The kit coes so that with the flip of a switch you can go from CNG to Gas. so I am not loosing Gas ability. the kit is 900.00. and Gas here in utah is 3.65 and Natural gas is $1.73

Has anyone done this, and if so what kit did you use?

i would like to know the same questions, To the OP do you have a link for this conversion kit? i might start looking into this. money saved on gas will pay for itself in no time at all.

I beleive you'll need a higher compression ratio for improved efficencey.
& CNG burns a richer mixture so the MPG goes down...............it still may save money,
although it would take a long time given the initial kit cost.

might i suggest getting a beater and trying this conversion on that instead?? doing a fuel swap on a brand new car might not be a good idea

i would say buy a beater and drive the stang when you want to have fun. if me and the gf stay together when she goes to college then ill be buying whatever gets 30+ mpg and i dont care what it looks like. ill be driving 500+ miles and dont want to be getting like 15mpg like ill be getting once i have everything done to it. and i dont want to put the miles on it. i have already put enough on it since ive had it

so i say a beater ftw that gets good gas mileage

wish I was complaining about $3.65 I was excited I paid $4.17 the other day. But it's not that bad I have a 93 octane tune, and gas has dropped a good deal for some reason around here.

I'm working on getting my 2005 GT converted to CNG. I'll update you when it is working correctly and post some pictures. I might try selling it too.

Yeah I've got a 93 oct tune. Gas for me is $4.25 and just keeps going up. I actually haven't seen the price drop at all around here since like 6 months ago.
