[Vanilla Gorilla]

I have a 2002 V6 automatic mustang which i have owned for a little over a year. since the 2nd week I had it I have had a reoccuring intermittent problem with the anti theft system. When I put in the key sometimes the theft light will be flashing and the car will not start (will crank but not start). This problem has also occured while drivng in which the car will stall on me and when i try to start it the theft light will be flashing again. I have had the codes cleared, the transmitter in the ignition replaced and a new key cut but problem persists.Also it has had a aftermarket sound system installed (long before i owned it) if that could be the problem. Dearlership cannot find problem any help would be appreciated.

I can't say for sure, but I don't think the PATS is your problem. I could be wrong, but I don't think the the car will even crank if the PATS is on. I'm not an expert cuz I have an active security system. I also don't think that the PATS can stall your engine. That I am almost sure of. I think your problem is more likely mechanical in nature. This sounds to me like you have a problem with either fuel or air flow.
