windstar intake

ok...i installed my windstar intake...and it is not cranking up and staying cranked up with out the throttle body being held down...my dad is saying it might be a timing issue...now im starting to think its a timing issue...all vacuum lines are hooked up correctly and there are no leaks (that i know of...and i checked and double checked) and the manifold is torqued to spec...the only thing that is not hooked up is the throttle cable...and i am stumped???

is that your iac all the way by the fire wall
because that might be the problem, it being so far away so see if you can shorten it up and see if that helps

i think it is just the iac being so far a way, because i have heard that causing the same problem you are having

also looking at the pics again it doesn't look like your maf is plugged in, and if that is the case it might be contributing to your problems

looks like you MAF was unplugged
make sure you MAF and hoses go to the correct hole
if its the opposite way it wont start
do you here a loud whistle while its on?
hold the throttle are a certain rpm so it stays on and spray carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks

I would also like to remind you to check the Mass Air Flow sensor... oh and, you don't need to route your intake piping the same way as it was, be creative and come up with something different if you want

Its your Idle Air Control...it does pretty much what its called..its there to help regulate the amount of air coming in so your A/F ratio will be correct and your car will run properly..

go back and check all the little things,

because it is the little things that are so simple that you don't think you can screw up that bite you in that ass cause you screwed them up and don't check them till you have triple checked every thing else

ok...im going to shorten up the iac alot im going to put it really close to the tb, the tps wires are connected good...and i know i used the same colors but i can differentiate between them by looking at the original wire, the coil pack is ok i thought it was that at first also so i checked and double checked and that is correct, the only thing that is not plugged in is the connections for the egr, and i checked literally everything there is to check... i ran everything though my head trying to figure out what is wrong...the only other thing i could think of is my intake tubing is loose somewhere...so sat i will be shortening the iac and checking the intake tubing...and yes my iac is fine i triple checked it...because i was almost curtain that that was it....but its fine it doesnt have any leaks or anything...but please do keep the suggestions coming
