AC replacement

so last fall my ac compressor seized up and its finally getting hot enough to warrant me fixing it. is this something i could fix my self? mechanically im sure i could do it, but i don't know alot about the chemicals that are in there.

im kind of assuming that i can drain it, replace it, the get it recharged somewhere. anything i missed?

you should have a shop discharge it, and you can pick up a recharge kit cheap at any parts store

ya buying the whole compressor is probably the best way to go

you will also need to replace the accumulator/drier
