Weird sound

Today i got in my car and noticed a rather annoying whining sound. I can even hear it a little bit when im idle. I took a look and wasnt too sure but my dad looked and said hes pretty sure that the alternator is going out. I really dont care if its serious because when i bought the car from the dealership i got a 2 year warranty and no matter how serious i only have to pay 75$ deductible maybe 100. But anyway what do you think it is?

does it get louder when you accl?

how are your lights? do they dim when you accl?

Does it sound like it's coming from the alternator?

Well it just started today so i really didnt notice any lights dimming during the day. Yes it does get louder when i accelerate.

check your power steering fluid, mine was low once and it sounded like a whining noise

+ one on the power steering.. worth a shot.

you would hear it more when you turn.

lol i didnt. Im not sure i hear the sound at a idle and when im cruising but it gets worse even if im in park and barly turn the wheel.

Im gonna add it tomm because i dont think autozone is open and i dont have anymore i think i threw away the little we had because it was old. I let you guys no how it goes.

My car doesn't whine at idle, but it does when i turn the wheel. Would putting in more power steering fluid fix this? I'm assuming so since it was the solution to N29's problem but thought i would ask anyway...
