16' wheels will 2005 wheel fit on 2000 car

hello everyone newbie here, just bought a 2000 v6 this morning for my daughter to drive and me to modify.
the stock rims are 16' and i want to reuse the new tires on different rims.
i am looking at rims off a 2005 model and another set off an 07 model.
having always been a chevy man i,m not sure about the mustang.
will either or both of the new setswork? both new sets are also 16'.will they bolt right on a 2000 model or is there a change in offsets that would prohibit the steering?thank you for your expert advise.

welcome to MM. first off, 16 foot wheels would be pretty damn big and wouldn't fit. just giving you shit bro, i know you meant 16". anyway, in order to put 05 wheels on a 2000, you need a set of wheel spacers to act like adaptors. the 05 and up wheels have different backspacing/ offset than the previous body style...

Dam your good i was just testing you ford guys with the 16' and you passed.
no really thanks for the info,i was afraid that might be the case.
now let me ask you about wheel spacers,in you opinion are they safe to use just to get a better looking ride or should i just wait and buy new wheels made for the 2000 model.i know that typically spacers put extra stress on wheel bearings and i dont want my little girl looking good broken down on the side of the road.
what do ya think?
thanks.

what kind of wheels are you looking at getting? i personally would prefer to buy wheels made specifically for my car as opposed to getting something that can be made to work...

Personally, I have never been a fan of spacers and have heard stories that would make you jump out of your socks. Personally, I would just wait and go for something made for the 99-04'. You might also think about going up to 17's simply for the look factor. There are some INCREDIBLE looking 17"-18" wheels for our cars.

yeah, definitely go with at least a 17" wheel. 16's just don't look right. a lot of guys i know have had 18's and hated them on the 99-04 Stangs. one guy here even sold hid Steeda (or maybe they were Saleen) 18's and went back down to Black Bullitt 17's

I have seen someone who has those wheels on their '02 in my town. I just don't think it looks right for some reason.....I'd definitely go with either some nicer stockers or 17's

those are nice wheels, but they have more of a retro look to them which is more fitting for the newer body style...

05+ wheels fit well on previous body styles it's just usually there are some problems when doing previous body style wheels on 05+ mustangs. Couple guys have got some of those wheels on their sn95's and they looks pretty good.

i think you should just look into getting some 99-04 stock gt rims. they look great on that body style and you can find for cheap if you look around

if you can I would go with some of the 40th anny wheels. Stock anthracite bullitt wheels. they look great. It's what I have. It's one reason why I'm not in too big of a rush to get new wheels. 17x8's
