doing the swap for the motor out of the f150 is pretty wasteful so such little power increase it'd take approx 8hours+ with taking out the motor and what is required and putting in the motor with whats required, then putting on your old parts to that one. and that motor is no stronger then our 3.8Ls just more torque and thats from the bigger stroke and also the intake design on those motors now if your talking about 4.2L forged stroker motors thats a different story you can use a 3.8L block have it bored up to .060 over use a 4.2L crank SCAT forged 6.125 rods and have a 4.3L motor. or just forged rods and pistons 4.2L crank and bore the block to w/e your pistons are recommended to and have a built 4.2L motor ready for 600+rwhp and 700-900hp at the crank or more so depends what motor the f150 truck motor is a direct swap if your re-using your stock upper intake and your a split port motor you'll also need to use your stock 99-04 returnless style fuel rail

so basically... if i just take my 3.8 liter stock mustang block, buy the rotating assembly. i will be pretty much set up for some serious power?? bore .060, buy forged pistons, rods, and crank and i should be good right?? i plan on doing my split port swap on it while the engine is out. i have a 93 mercury couger 3.8 in the car now. the old 3.8 mustang block i still have and is in my garage. wheres the best place i could ger the rotating assembly and how would the balancing work? i'd have to get a 4.2 liter flex plate correct?? same oil pan as the stock mustang? front cover too? i appreciate ur comment u got me facing the right direction now now i just gotta figure out the specifics

you'll need the following
your block clean, bore'd, honed and hex'd if your using anything other then factory main studs you'll need a mainline hone since ARP studs require a different torque spec 4.2L crank forged pistons Forged connect rods main bearings rod bearings lower overhaul gasket set might as well do timing chain and the tensioner piston rings same oil pan and timing cover the motor is going to have to be nuetrally balanced you machine shop can probably do that as well Redlined Performance Mustangs sells the parts that you need for the best price Im using his forged assembly for a build im doing for a guy on here(obdnanr) everything was balanced and came back to me in awsome condition. expect to pay about $300-450 at the machine shop and about $2k in parts listed above

mik has awesome parts and hes a great guy to work with. i think mik was the cheapest i found when looking to get my motor parts. i looked for a bit more then a roatating assembly and right now the parts and a block are at the shop and starting to get pu together and then my car
. . . good luck with what you choose, just dont try to take a cheap route it never works and something usually fails.

basically if you look at a fresh motor you'll see kinda like x's in the cylinder walls. that is honed basically like tiny scratchs you cannot feel that help guide the oil down a machine shop will do this for you normally
