I say screw the GT and stick with what you got. Just a thought, but insurance for your age will be much better, and a V-6 will out handle any COMPARABLY equipped GT due to better balance, braking, and the lower front end weight. I'm a handling guy so I just thought I'd throw that in there. As far as fixing your little problem, I would keep your current cats, and have an H made from there to a true cat back position (that way a future cat-back could be added without further mods). Then continue back as a dual. I would say $100 would cover it. But even better, every military base has a "auto hobby shop." There you find a ton of gear heads doing everything from oil changes to engine rebuilds. Usually, it has plenty of tech help right there too. Cost of a bay fee ($5/day sometimes, $3/hr other times) and the right friend who could weld that for you for the cost of a 12 pack. Then you get to see it, do it, and learn it. I taught numerous people tons of tricks that are near impossible to explain, but take only a few minutes to demonstrate. I learned allot too. Good equipment, good help, and something to do if you end up in some back water ConUs base that will keep you out of trouble. Here I am getting ready for a Al flywheel, drive shaft, and clutch on my old '00 6cyl. It shows the Pacesetter adapter that I used to a GT take off cat back. I was teaching a guy how to remove and install a trans in 2hrs flat(my record). This was at the Yuma base. Made things allot easier to have every tool right there and not have to work on stands to do it.

thats a pretty neat deal having a shop on base where you can work on your car. nice job on the exhaust. ps, It takes a tough son-of-a-gun to be a Marine! @ uconnV6, best of luck in the Navy, it will be the time of your life!

I have some of right when I started modding my 2000. A friend was learning to pull trannies and had the pics after my last laptop took a dive on me. Here you go. They aren't the best. The warranty had just run out, so I was just getting started. The adapter is a Pacesetter, and I hooked a GT take off to it. Later I went to longtubes, and a cat-H. This pull I was doing a Al flywheel, Al driveshaft, shifter, clutch, clutch cable, firewall adjust, quadrant, and a pedal height adapter. Notice the front springs and sway bars? I love suspension work! But never order a Steeda part! Good parts, bad customer service.
