Mac catback question
well.. I've had my Mac catback (for the stock y pipe) for about a month and when I bought it I didn't want something too loud, and I guess I got what I was wanting. At initial start up it sounds great, then once it goes to normal idle you can't hear it what so ever inside the car. I guess I'm looking for that happy medium quiet and not super loud. So my question is, is it the mufflers that are restricting the sound, or should I go to a shop and have them fab. me up a h pipe and throw my mufflers on it, or am I just sol?

when i was getting my dual setup done the muffler dude was telling me that once i put on the second muffler i'd probably lose some volume. but it was actually much louder. but, i don't know, try it and see what happens, it'll look good though.

if u want to get technical, the h will have deeper sound, and the x will have a tad raspier sound. the x will be slightly better performance wise.

When your goin to look for a midpipe look for the sound you want not the power your lookin for. If you want more power your gonna have to do a LT headers, and a shorty midpipe, and thats if you plan on keeping the car n/a, supercharged, or nitrous. If you want it to be turbocharged don't mess with the exhaust yet. |
