Dual Exhaust Pipe Size

I need help on my exhaust choice..i was thinkin bout mac longtubes with a custom h-pipe and flowmaster 40s. If i were to get 2.25 inch piping instead of 2.5 inch piping would that affect sound and/or power?

But would the 2.25 inch pipes make it sound worse than if i had 2.5s?
