Common A/C Compresser

2001 3.8 v6

Ok, so couple months ago my a/c compressor locked up and burnt the belt off. Took it to a local machanic shop since it was there warrenty work when they put a new motor in it. Since then the compressor has locked up and burnt my belt off AGAIN... My question is, if they dont feel like doing warrenty work, without buying a delete kit which im sure i do because looking at the belt routing when it comes off the tensorner it will hit the waterpump pully when tryin to bypass the a/c with a shorter belt, is there another way to route the belt to bypass the a/c or will i need to buy a delete kit?

Welcome to Modded Mustangs,
"My question is, if they dont feel like doing warrenty work",
um, I'd hold them to a proper repair, especially now that its summer & you will
want that A/C working.

ok i think i got the config figured out but im not too positive on it....basically all the pulleys in the system turn 1 way and the water pump pully will turn the oposite...like if the crank, alt, ps, ac, tensioner, turn the the right the water pump turns to the left and visa versa....so i made diagrams in paint and i just wanted to get a second opinion.

Ha, nice drawing but i really dont think thats gonna work, theres definetly no tension what so ever going to be on the water pump if you do that. That water pump will need more, besides, why would you delete the a/c in the midst of summer?

well when i drew it the tensioner pully is up a lil higher than i drew...but it works theres good tension on the water pump, no over heating, no whining from the belt...but it works, all pullys turn like there supose to. and bypassin the a/c is because the compressor has locked up, and i dont feel like spending an arm and a leg to get it fixed. it wasnt under warrenty
