heat question

The last two days my cars been over heating but not too too bad but enough for me to notice... I think it's because i may be low on oil but its about time to do an oil change anyway so a few days ago i sea foamed it 3/3/3 and now im gunna do the oil change today. if its still over heating i think it may be the thermostat. if thats the case is it an easy do it yourself job? my brother had his gfs dad do his but i diddnt see him do it. any tips if thats the case?

What kinda motor, 3.8 or 4.6. the 3.8 disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing. remove the bolts and u might have to tap it to break the gasket seal. remove the o ring seal. remember how it is installed before u replace it, make sure the thermostat is replaced with the correct opening temperature. also make sure the correct end faces out and the spring is directed towards the motor. replace the radiator hose and fill her up. got any questions jsut send me a email at spyke3@charter.net hope this helps u out.

drain the coolant or at least a little of it out, sucks when you forget that step, make sure you get both the thermostat and the thermostat gasket while your at the parts store, its a bitch when you gotta go back twice for something.
