hssss noise


when i park my car and get out when i close my door the engine makes a hssss noise. what could this be? i was thinking the a/c compresser but i would like to hear your comments! thanks!

Also if i get 17x10.5 in the rear should i get a wheel spacer?

mine did this to, i coult hear something like a tick, sounded exactly like a clock at other times, both went away when the weather changed though,

i'm thinkin some kind of backpressure maybe?

Some time my car also gives out a hssss sound , I dont have any idea. Ok it might be a/c compresser

i live in indiana.. and mine just started doing it as the weather has started getting warmer.. and i rarely use the a/c, but it does it whether or not i've had the a/c on.. so maybe the temp. has something to do with it?

I believe it's the condensation dripping on the hot engine...

when you shut the door, it rattles the drops loose

^^ I've got the same thing too, also a Flordia boy, whether it be condensation, saved rain water, or from the a/c, when it hits the hot motor it instantly evaporates, giving off that sound. Not a big deal unless (like what happened to me years ago) it hits right on the exhaust manifold and causes it to blow ... thank god for emissions warranty ... i've actually rigged up aluminum sheet to redirect the drip from the a/c away from the manifold ...

thats wat it was on my car. Only after i had my air conditioning on. nice.
