tires

I didnt know exactly where to post this, but since i have a v6 i decided to post it here. anyways, is anyone running 255/40/17 size tire on a 17x8 rim on their car. If so, have you had any problems with them? If someone could post pictures on how they look on their car that would be cool too. thanks

255/40r17s on v6 Mustang

I dont know about 255/40/17s but ive been running 245 45 17s on my 99 V6 for over a year with no problems, also w/ ford c springs lowered about 1.5 inches. Only thing is i noticed on hard left and right turns the tires do rub a bit on the sway bar. Its usually only at very low speeds parking so its really no big deal.

well yeah i knew 245/45/17 are what most people put on a 17x8 rim, but i was looking around on a website that said a 255/45/ size tire would be fine. i know i put 255/40 earlier, but i just looked at the site again and it was actually a 255/45. thanks for the welcome HMUSN. here's the site just in case you want to look at it Mustang Wheels and Tires FAQ: Come here for questions concerning tire size!!
