Strange Ignition/Radio=WTF? Problem

Two days ago on the way from my friends house I noticed I was having some wierd problems. First I noticed my radio was cutting out every time I gave the car any throttle, it would break up, kind of like if your listening to a radio station that doesnt come in well, its not a radio reception problem as it happens on CDs and my IPOD as well. The radio doesnt dim or anything, it doesnt appear to be losing power, my subs also still seem fine and my car lights dont dim when it hits indicating its not an alternator problem as some people have told me. Thats only part of the problem, the other half and the more importent half is my car is slow, sluggish, and sputtering. It feels like its not firing properly on all cylinders. The car is jerky when im accelerating or cruising on throttle. Both of these problems started happening at the same time so it makes sense that they would be related. I dont have any clue what could be causing this nor did most of the people I have talked to so any help is appreciated.

before my alternator went out my radio started cutting out and such along with my gauges dying. then my car started sputtering like it was dying. remember if the ecu doesnt have the power to control everything ur car isnt gonna run right. so i wouldnt totally cancel out an alternator problem

The thing is everything seems like its getting enough power, the radio isnt dimming or anything, it just doesnt sound right. I drove the car today and the car actually seemed worse, especially when idleing in gear, it was chugging kind of like when you hear a car with a crazy cam setup.

You might check the radio capacitor, which is near the coil. If it's shorting out intermittently it could account for the symptoms.

This answer only concerns the radio; I had previously had subs/amps in my car, and when I removed them, left all the wiring in place. I began having the same problem as you described with the radio/cds going out. Once I removed the old remote wire that went to the no longer existent amp, problem solved. Just a thought if you have/had a sound system.

this is for the sound system only.... How are the wires run in your car from the battery to the amp? by wires i mean RCA cables, Remote wire, and your power wire? are they all on the same side or did you separate them. the rca cables should be run by them self or they can pick up interference from the power or remote wires and put out a annoying sound from the speakers. also you may have a short in your power or remote that is messing it up also.

I guess Ill try removing the remote, it worked fine for 6 months though and that still doesnt explain the ignition
