3.8 or 3.9

I have a quick question for you guys...Do some of the V6's have 3.9L or are they all 3.8L? Because I was told that mine was a 3.9 but the sticker on the engine has the standard 3.8L? The guy that posted about his exhaust states he has an 04 3.9L. Thanks in advance

they don't have a intake manifold that says 3.9.

If I'm not mistaken, but someone correct me if I'm wrong the later months of 03, and 04 are the only 3.9L v6's so it's not exactly different years. There is no real difference besides a longer stroke, and .1L.

i hate to say it but i believe your wrong. i have an 04 and i had (fell off) a sticker above my rad that said 3.8. i think only certain ones had the 3.9. but this goes in the group of "why the fword did ford do this?"

if im not mistaken they were mixing parts in between the transition from 3.8 to 4.0 and I might be wrong but I thought that 3.9 was only offered in 2004.

it is only offered in 04. and the idea of them getting rid of there overstock parts and thus creating an engine inbtween 3.8 and 4.0 sounds good, but im pretty sure the 4.0 is a completly different engine.
