windstar over cai?

Ok so I hear almost everybody say that a good first mod is a cai. I got mine for 60, but I know most people pay around 100.
My question is, if you can get a windstar intake for 60 bucks, why bother with the cai?

my geuss is because i windstar can move much more air then your stock one, so if you got a windstar before a cold air, and you have a stock air inlet, your windstart will pretty much be canceled out because you are getting in any more air than you were.

but your cai has to go in the trash anyway. you have to build a custom cai to go with the windstar.

windstar intake is a lot better, but you would have to do the split port swap anyways, so it would cost more money. and the fact that you would have to custom make your cai is something else to consider. its a good mod if you have the money and time

the upper intake is off a 96-98 windstar
he also has the 01+ uppers off of the windstars too

either way they only fit a splitport

and just to let ya know, i dont think chris is selling the full windstar kit yet anyway. i keep hounding him to do it so one of these days he will. when u buy the windstar it is just the upper, but he can make u a coil pack bracket and shave the iac and such for ya. thats what i did when i got mine from him.

isn't the m90 off of the supercoupe?
I read that for that you gotta replace a shitload of stuff. I'm not ready to charge the engine yet, just looking for bolt-ons.
So far, the windstar is the best bolt on i've seen by far.

IMO i would consider the windstar a first mod in my book. it takes a lil more energy than say a cai would but i think it would be worth it. one of these days ima write up a full parts list and all that. if i were u i would do a splitport swap. i think chris stopped doing em but if u shoot him a pm im sure he could point u in the right direction. that right there will shoot ya about 50hp. then do ur windstar swap and u will be set.

I mean i just put a new engine in less than a month ago- I'm not ready to go through that again
