Intercooled Turbo In My 3.8L

I want to put an intercooled turbo into my mustang. I have heard that the most psi that my stock fuel injectors can handle is 4.5 psi. Is this true? I wanted to maybee get new fuel injectors with my turbo kit so i could run more pounds of boost. Is it nessesary to put a boost controller in my car?

Depends on what year 3.8, but I would go with the manufacturer's recommendation on replacing your Injectors. I know that a couple supercharger kits come with recommendations on boost based on the injectors you have in the vehicle.

as for boost controller, it is not really NESSESARY to put it in, as it is generally optional on most systems. However, it will allow you to adjust the amount of boost your system is able to make from inside while driving (depending on model, if it is electronically controllable) or from under the hood with simple adjustments.

k so first things yeah you can put more boost in but it;s not recommened with stock internals, you might break something. and the boost control it;s just nice to have but really depends on how much more boost you want to put in. anyways good luck

Talk to andy over www.tmaturbo.com He will prob recommend some 42lb injectors. Like what cyber said a boost controller isn't neccessary, but it is helpful. Also if you want to run a lot of boost better be safe than spending more money to fix your engine. Invest in a turbo timer. It safely cools the oil and runs it where it needs to be ran before shutting the engine off.

the early 3000GT's had a major problem with people hotrodding the hell out of them on the highway and then going home and shutting the motor off.... caused major problems..... Turbo Timer is a VERY nice thing to have.....

yeah the stock injectors can handle about 7 lbs of boost at the most. But if your going to spend the money on a turbo you might as well do it right and spend the money for some bigger injectors

i would say in a turbocharged setup a boost controller is very necessary. most t3/t4's have a 6-10lb waste gate spring. it just depends. and if your wanting to run less then six it simply wont be possibly and if you want to change it, also not possible if your just using the turbos internal wastegate to regulate boost. buy a boost controller and make it a halfway decent one, if its a piece of crap you can get boost spikes and damage your engine real quick. A turbo timer is also a good idea for a boosted car if your running over about 10lbs of boost, anything less its not as big a deal.
