I was thinking of getting new plugs and new wires and changing them again. Just in case the ones I just got were bad. Do the coil packs just suddenly go bad sometimes? Are they easy to replace? Other than that I was going to take it back to Carmax to have them try to fix it...just dont want them to pull some crap about having to change the wires and plugs and charge me 350 dollars for it. Everything else MIGHT be coverd under my warranty.

so change your plugs, wires, and then take it to them, they charged a buddy of mine 175 for changing the plugs and one wire on his 02 mustang. coil packs are easy to replace, its where you connected your wires to near the intake, it just bolts on and off,

My 01 is doing the same thing..........i hit water and now it misses when I punch it. New plugs and wires have not fixed it. A guy told me it could be the crank sensor but I have not tried it yet. I have no codes popping up either.

tmnmatt have you changed the plugs from bosh to something else?? no joke, it is more than likely the bosh plugs at this point.

k, definetly let us know, that seems to be a huge issue on here with alot of people, i just never realized it. instead of buying that coil see if they will let you just hook it up real fast, that why you dont go through a buying process then a return if it doesnt work.

Alright well I found out today on my car that its cylinder 6 thats not firing at all by disconnecting and reconnecting the wires until it didnt change anything. I put in a new coil pack and im having the exact same problem still. I also changed the plug on cylinder 6. Originally I was having the same problem as these guys, sputtering under acceleration on cylinder 1, now my car barely even runs so I dont know if cylinder 1 is fixed or not but cylinder 6 is dead. Im not getting anything from it. Anyone have any ideas??? Im completely out of ideas here.

well i had a common prob.. first of all when i installed my nitrous kit i never changed plugs. the nitrous detonated messed my car up pretty bad it was missfiring like crazy.. went to advanced told the guy i need colder plugs he gave me some 6 dollar each plugs dident help changed the wires dident help.. so took it to a shop they changed my plugs and turns out your not supposed to put those kind of plugs in my car the guy gave me the wrong ones.. so the shop installed ngk plugs and the car runs like a champion.

this is for superpede1 change the wires or al least test them if you have a new coil and still have a dead cyl. then you either have a bad spark plug wire or faulty wiring to the coil pack it's self. I would go the easy way and check your plug wires don't just change them around change all the wires or test them all. you can also get a spark tester and checked to see if the wires are firing at all. We do this at my shop and it helps us find and fixing misfiring problems
