it depends on your mods man.
headers don't really give much of a gain to an n/a car

exhaust manifolds are another term for headers. generally shorties are not worth the hassle when you can install long tubes and a short midpipe in the same amount of time and get 15-20 more rwhp out of them

Please.. take my word for it..

my first attempt at making my exhaust looking good was short tube headers, x pipe and cat back....

I was able to pick up a set of long tubes, x pipe and cat back from a friend, and when I put on the long tubes, I really noticed a difference....

my favorite part? Even though the cat backs were the same brand and mufflers (MAC) I noticed the car sounded throatier with the long tubes....

Get Long Tubes....

no exhaust manifolds are all one peice but the shorty headers have individual tubes which helps it breath a little better

No AB its not. Headers are three or four pipes welded together with a port plate and collector, and exhaust manifolds are cast as one piece in a mold.

the terms are now used interchangeably as tubular headers or tubular exhaust manifolds. manifolds are cheap and a thing of the past. most autos use cast mani's, but performance cars use "headers" but are called exhaust manifolds from the factory

Not that its a big deal, but no v6 comes with headers...their called exhaust manifolds, then the swap to shorty headers, mid length headers or long tube headers

terminally because stock is a cast piece and shorties are general tubular welded design.

shorties over stock cast shorties are a minimal gain, but are a direct bolt on. imo, if you have emissions, this may be the route to go, but otherwise long tubes are the best option

also the one piece exhaust manifolds. I have heard plenty of people refer to them as log headers.

EXACTLY AB
if the others would reread my statement
i did say tubular...
and since they ARE stock
it is the stock exhaust manifold...

so long tubes are the way to go...
thank you

You can't get LT headers for your car. They don't make them for the 98. The 98 is a year of it's own.

Yea, but they make long tube headers for the 94-97 v6. The only company that I know of that makes headers for the 98 is JBA.

You can put lob tubes on the 98, you just have to do something with the K member to make them fit. Several guys at V6Power have done this...

Funny seems the exhaust manifolds that came stock from the factory on my 1995 V6 Mustang, look exactly like shorty headers to me.............
