how wide are your rims? on an 8 inch rim, the widest i had was 245 up front, 255 in the rear. now on 9 inch rims, i have 255's up front, 275's in the rear. you can fit up to a 275 in the front without rubbing

In my opinion you don't want to go wider than 245 up front (for street driving), which is what I'm running now and on my previous set of rims. The wider the tire the more surface area, the more pull it has, which you don't want to be out of your control. Wide front tires aren't necessary we rock rear wheel drive! Also Wide ass front tires look goofy to me... fat in tha rear!

i might go with 235 up front, if i can find one that i can compare it to the 245 and visualy see how much of a differenct it is, for instance i dont want it lookin to awkard with 245 in the back and 235 up front.

Exactly, you would be the only person to know unless someone was reading the tires to find the size, or like you said, whipped out the tape measurer.

i know they are 17"s but i dont know by what, if you tell me how to measure them i can do it and let you know but all four rims are the same and the back rims have tires on them which measure 245/45/17. if that helps with width.
