Go for some FRPP "C" Springs. They give a nice aggressive stance with a subtle drop where you don't need to chage any of your suspension components besides the Springs that you buy. Take a look at ABs car and see what the stance is like on his car. He has them.

getting coil overs and all that expensive type of suspension isnt necasary.
theres a fox with stock suspension running 7.4 at 197mph...

but the FRPP C springs are the way to go for a cheap and trusty drop...thats what im doin

thanks for the help on suspension but back to an old question, if i did swap the sixer for like a 4.6L GT motor how difficult is that and how expensive is that? would it be easier to just trade my car in and get a gt? its hard to decide what to do with all the diffrent opinions and both sides have really good points.

better off selling your car for a GT, less money, headache, and pain in the ass for installing and all that

maybe look at doing something like i did, getting a tokico kit with springs, shocks, and struts for about 470, then add some caster camber plates of choice.

that'd be very hard...if you want a 9 second car. you'll need ALOT
new engine (a very strong one)
new tranny
i know the 7.5 will handle that so new rear, and i dont think the 8.8 will handle it either.
something to keep the chassy from getting messed up...its alot of work

are they the best, no... would they be on my 9 second car, probably not, but are they within your dad's pricerange...probably.?? that kit will lower your car 1.5" at all corners, there are other options if you want a progressive look, but they are a great all around shock/strut combo (non-adjustable) but will perform great on the street/strip or autox. you will need caster/camber plates to obtain the proper alignment after install so figure that into the cost. if you go with a package that is 1.4" or less you will not need caster/camber plates.

ofcourse the obvious 1.5 being lower but the 1.5-2.0 drops will require caster camber plates to obtain the correct alignment, also the lower you go the more ground clearance is an issue and eventually bumpsteer.
