ON the way home from the place where a bunch of domestic and import cars meet, i was followed. It lasted about 20 minutes and i was debating the whole time whether i should outrun them or not. About five minutes later, i decided to gun it and make my run. it took me a few minutes to lose them. So basically, the question im try to ask is.. If someone is following you for a long period of time, and you dont have a cell phone to call for help, is it legal for you to outrun them by whatever means neccisary?

is it legal no its not legal but 5 of 10 times if your pulled over by and cop they might understand.. they will tell u the same thing u should of pulled into a well lit and populated area such as a gas station or store and called for help

I would ahve prolly done the same thing...If I could not find a walmart or something close...Normally if you roll through the front of a walmart or a store like that the cars wont fallow...

if this happens to you again, do NOT.. repeat DO NOT.. keep going in the direction of home.

If you can not find a nice lighted/populated place to zip through, then take a direction different from home and run like hell... But do not keep going towards home. the closer you get to home the closer your follower is to finding your home, and you don't want that.

Also, if in the time period you are running from them you happen to see a cop/trooper/patrolman, and they pull you over just stop immediatly for them and explain the situation. 9 times out of 10 they will understand.

Also, I'm not sure about your state... but if someone grabs your plate number, they can get the information about the vehicle including owner/address if your state puts that into the public domain (can't recall off hand which states do that...)

People follow me all the time. What I do is pull into a subdivision of houses and such that I know extremely well, and take a lot of turns and then when there are a lot of turns close together I take them and pull into somewhere, shut my car off, and my lights off. I wait a couple min and then go home. Works for me everytime(knock on wood.). Gotta be careful, and outrunning them won't always work.

A lot of them are just guys who know about my car and are trying to race me. A lot of ricers think my car is God. Really pathetic. Some are cops that just hate me. Some are people who see a modded out car, and think I'm gonna be racing so they try to be a vigilante.

yea, i never thought about a well lite area. ill do that next time. This was at around midnight, so there really wasnt anywhere open. And i was familiar with that area.

There are some cops in the area that are good cops that do there job the way they are suppossed to, and I'm cool with them, and I have respect for them, but then there are some renegade cops goin after any one that may make it one over the speed limit, and usually they are the ones out when I'm getting off of work.

hay not all cops are assholes im in law enforcement and im not a asshole usually officers seem like assholes but there just trying to enforce the law and protect everyone else..

Dude your absolutly right. I'm cool with quite a few officers, and detectives. There is one that comes into my store all the time, and me and him joke around all the time. Especially when he comes up buying a donut and says "Ya know a cop has to have his donut." He was the first cop to pull me over, and he set me straight from then on. I have much respect for that profession. I don't have much respect for a select few in that profession. There are always a few in a bunch that ruin it for the rest.

LOL if someone is following me i slow down get next to them turn some music up as loud as i can look over at them and they usually look over at me and i drop it two gears and flick em off. thats about it lol. sometimes they will catch up and cut me off and thats when i just turn onto some street . or get in front of them and go like 10 under the speed limit... lol im such an aggressive driver.... but ya people who follow me or ride my ass for like 10 mins piss me off and i wish i had some shitty car so i can slam on my brakes. but i dont lol

yea, i dont know why that asshole was following me. I know it was another import though. I think it was one of those 3000 gt things. not sure though.

ive heard those 3000 gt things are fast. A guy i know, and who is sorta "de de de", said they could spank a cobra. Then again, this is coming from a guy who doesnt know how to race, launch, mod, etc.
